DSC Encoder/Decoder Handshake Delay & Black Screen Alt-Tab Stalls

High-refresh monitors (1440p 360Hz, 4K 240Hz) require DSC to compress video data over DisplayPort 1.4. The compression handshake causes 3-5 second black screens when alt-tabbing.

While DSC visual latency is mathematically minimal (<1 scanline), the GPU display engine must constantly negotiate DSC decompression blocks. When switching resolutions or alt-tabbing, the monitor must re-sync DSC headers, causing multi-second black screens and disabling custom DSR/DLDSR resolutions. We configure custom resolution timings (CRU), tune color depths (8-bit vs 10-bit), and optimize GPU scaling.
